Board Certification in Therapeutic Massage and Bodywork is the highest voluntary credential a massage therapist can obtain within the profession - it is above and beyond entry level state licensure.
As a Board-Certified massage therapist, Rachel is part of a community committed to exceeding standard educational and professional requirements while upholding the highest ethical standards set by the National Certification Board for Therapeutic Massage and Bodywork (NCBTMB). Committed to being the very best practitioner that she can be for you, Rachel has dedicated her life to her craft, and now has well over 1000 hours of education, while continuing every year to master her craft.
Specializing and certified in Deep Tissue Massage Therapy, Russian Sports Massage Therapy, Traditional Swedish Massage Therapy, Migraine and Headache Relief, as well as the very rare and very specialized Craniosacral Therapy and SomatoEmotional Release Therapies, Rachel is deeply passionate about the healing power of personal, hands on work.
The passion and affinity for her healing work came to her as Rachel endured several extremely painful and traumatic personal and relationship issues that affected her life in deep and profound ways. While in the process of finding ways to heal, Rachel discovered and experienced how powerfully Craniosacral and SomatoEmotional Release Therapy was for her in her healing process.
It was at this point that she earned her advanced training in both modalities so that she can share with you the ways to help you recover from the devastating effects that stress and a variety of traumas have on your body, mind, and spirit. Rachel is now committed to helping you to live a life that is thriving, healthy, and whole.
The most unique skill that sets Rachel apart is her work with Craniosacral therapy and SomatoEmotional Release therapy. These are both light touch and gentle modalities working with the tissue surrounding your brain and spinal cord in order to aid in bringing your Autonomic Nervous System (this is the stress response system) and Central Nervous System (this controls everything else in your body) back to an optimum balance for you.
This skill is especially helpful if/when you have experienced recent trauma, or trauma from your past. Your trauma may be physical, emotional, mental or spiritual in nature.
The foundational understanding of both of these therapies is that there is a part of each and every human being that is perfect, whole, and healthy and it knows exactly what the person needs to heal and recover. As your practitioner and therapist, Rachel tunes into this and facilitates the healing that is needed and wanted.
